Opened in 2016, The Nest is the club restaurant of the Laguna National Golf and Country Club located in the east of Singapore. It offers a wide array of Singaporean signature dishes with a fine-dining interpretation, amongst some European classics.
You may think that the restaurant is only accessible to club members. Fortunately, non-members are allowed on weekdays!
I have ordered some lamb and chicken satays, XO fish soup, deep-fried fish skin and seafood horfun. They were all very good! I guess this is one of the places you can bring tourists to, without having them sweat it out in a hawker centre just to get that authentic taste.
The star of the restaurant is of course this magnificient view on the terrace.
Overlooking the club’s holes 9 and 18 of the Masters Course, together with the lake, the terrace is where you can spot planes coming in, getting ready to land at the Changi International Airport just next door.
While the food is good, the service level could be improved. Their foreign staff needs to be trained in proper English and refrain from chattering amongst themselves in Mandarin.
Reservation is not required but do call beforehand, just in case.
Dress code is smart casual, meaning no flip-flops.
