Founded in 1947, Traditional Cafe Symi Παραδοσιακό Καφενείο Σύμη is an institution in the modern city of Rhodes. It is small though, easily missed, when you walk inside the courtyard of the Neo Agora (New Market). A must-try for any seafood-lover, this is definitely the best spot for a relaxing light lunch for any visitor to Rhodes.

Where is Symi?

Symi is one of the Dodecanese group of islands located just north of Rhodes.

The island is known for its shrimps, called ‘Simiako garidaki’ Συμιακό γαριδάκι. These small, crimson red crustaceans are packed with flavour, and are really popular not just in the Dodecanese but throughout the whole of Greece.

What’s on offer in the Traditional Cafe Symi Παραδοσιακό Καφενείο Σύμη?

Everyday is a new day. Every day is a new catch. There is the catch of the day on offer and that is the freshest you can get here.

Caught in the morning and grilled on the spot for your lunch, this is the most down-to-earth and most delicious way you can enjoy seafood.

Already the third generation running this outlet, the Traditional Cafe Symi Παραδοσιακό Καφενείο Σύμη offers you this unique experience of accepting what life gives you everyday, and being grateful for what you receive.

Be sure to finish off your meal with a traditional Greek coffee! Enjoy!
