If you are like me, like to keep a herb garden on your balcony or in your garden, autumn is the best time to harvest some of these herbs so that you can continue to use them in winter.

All you have to do is to cut the whole branch low near the soil, tie several branches into a bunch and hang them upside down in a dry, airy place in your house.

Once dried, you can pick the leaves off and crush them and keep them in a jar. I do that to herbs like basil and mint, and you can do the same for all kinds of herbs.
